Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on December 16, 2025, addressing affordability concerns for families, her recent volunteer work, and legislative efforts related to student mental health.
In her first post on December 16, Salinas criticized former President Donald Trump’s comments about affordability: “Trump continues to call affordability a “hoax”… It’s not a hoax when families can barely keep their children fed.”
Later that day, she shared her experience volunteering in Woodburn: “Over the weekend, I volunteered at Love Santa in #Woodburn, helping to distribute and package food and gift boxes for over 600 families in need. I am committed to working to lower the cost of living so that no family ever has to worry about where their next meal will come from.”
In a third tweet posted in the evening, Salinas highlighted her testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee regarding her proposed legislation: “I testified before @EnergyCommerce about the importance of passing my Mental Health Services for Students Act through their Committee. My bill would ensure that school-based mental health providers have the resources to support our children & address the mental health crisis.”
Andrea Salinas has represented Oregon’s 6th District since 2023 after serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
