Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, representing Oregon’s 6th District since 2023 and a former member of the Oregon House of Representatives, shared updates on affordable housing, LGBTQIA+ mental health access, and inflation in a series of recent posts.
On June 1, 2026, Salinas announced her participation in a local event: “I was proud to be a part of the grand opening for an affordable housing development right here in #Willsonville. Vuela will provide 121 new units so people can continue to thrive in #OR06. The bottom line: Everyone deserves to live in an affordable, quality home.”
Later that day, she addressed mental health challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ youth and criticized former President Donald Trump’s policies, “Nearly half of LGBTQIA+ youth who wanted to access mental health services in the past year were not able to get care. Between Trump’s attack on our LGBTQIA+ neighbors and slashing funds for lifesaving care — he is only making the mental health crisis worse. I am working to” (June 1, 2026).
On June 2, Salinas commented on economic pressures linked to inflation: “People are spending more on everything else.” Yeah. That’s how inflation works.
Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard at age 53. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
