Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to highlight several issues including childhood cancer research, agricultural policy, and mental health resources.
On September 20, 2025, Salinas posted about ongoing concerns during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. She stated, “September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month — a time to fight even harder for children’s futures. Instead, the Trump Administration has cancelled cancer research that could save countless lives. Our children deserve better.”
The following day, on September 21, 2025, Salinas shared details of her participation at an industry event. She wrote, “I spoke at the AmericanHort Impact Summit about my work with the @HouseAgDems Committee and as their partner in Washington, D.C. I will continue to work for our producers, ensuring they have the support & resources they need to succeed for generations to come. Thanks for having”.
On September 22, 2025, Salinas addressed mental health awareness by informing constituents about the national suicide prevention hotline. She posted: “What happens when you dial 988? Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
