Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently shared updates on her work and personal life through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 1, 2025, Salinas recapped her summer activities with constituents and local businesses, writing: “This summer has been jam packed! From visiting local businesses to having conversations with many of you, I have been busy working to better our #OR06 community!

Later that day, she posted a more personal message about her home gardening efforts: “My backyard bounty brings me joy! https://t.co/YlJqj9MrGL”.

In another post on August 1, Salinas criticized legislation backed by Republican lawmakers. She stated: “Folks, I can’t stress enough how terrible this Big, Ugly Bill is. Put simply, it is a betrayal of the values we hold in Oregon.

We won’t let Republicans pass a bill that guts benefits for working families — and then pretend it never happened.

We can’t stay quiet.”

Salinas’s career in public service began in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023 before being elected to Congress. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and now residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
