Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on November 20, 2025, highlighting her ongoing support for educators and students as well as her legislative efforts to address mental health challenges among Latino youth.
In recognition of American Education Week, Salinas wrote: “Happy American Education Week!
Thank you to all of the #OR06 teachers, staff, and faculty who make a difference in our schools every day.
I’m committed to working to support both our educators and students to equip them with the tools & resources they need to thrive.” (November 20, 2025)
Later that evening, Salinas addressed concerns about mental health within the Latino youth community. She stated: “Latino youth are facing a mental health crisis, yet too many are still struggling without support. No one should ever feel alone or ignored when it comes to their mental health.
I introduced a bill to ensure that young people can access culturally informed care to feel safe,” (November 20, 2025). In a follow-up post she encouraged readers to learn more about her proposed legislation: “Read more about the Latino Youth Mental Health Empowerment Act (2/2)
