Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several initiatives and issues on her official Twitter account.
On April 28, 2026, Salinas announced new funding for education in rural Oregon: “I was so proud to deliver $850,000 for our rural students. The new Barbara Roberts Career Technical Education Center will lead directly to high-skill, high-wage careers for folks across Yamhill and Polk counties!”
The following day, she commented on a Supreme Court decision affecting voting rights: “Civil rights leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. fought for equal voting rights, and the Voting Rights Act safeguards against voter discrimination, giving generations of Americans a voice. Today’s SCOTUS decision will allow for sweeping redistricting changes that will directly”
Later on April 29, Salinas marked National Financial Literacy Month by encouraging constituents to seek out financial education resources: ” Financial literacy empowers people to manage their money with confidence. Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
