Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently used her social media platform to highlight her ongoing advocacy for health care access and LGBTQ+ rights.

On February 9, 2026, Salinas posted about her visit to a local health institution: “I had the opportunity to tour Northwest Human Services, a long-time health care institution for underserved communities in Salem since 1970. Federally Qualified Health Centers like this one help ensure nobody is overlooked. I’ll keep fighting so that all Oregonians can get the https://t.co/HarRVqd9HB”.

Later that day, she addressed her commitment to LGBTQ+ rights: “I’ve been fighting to safeguard the rights of our LGBTQ+ community members — first as a mother and now as a legislator. I spoke to @WashBlade about my new role in the @EqualityCaucus and how I am going to keep working until every American can live out their most authentic lives.”

On February 10, 2026, Salinas responded with a brief comment: “Disgusting. https://t.co/nC9pwOGqIU”

Andrea Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. She earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023.

Federally Qualified Health Centers such as Northwest Human Services play an important role in providing medical services for underserved populations throughout Oregon and have operated since the early 1970s.

Salinas’ recent remarks also reflect her active involvement with congressional groups focused on equality issues. Her public statements continue longstanding efforts that began during her tenure as a state legislator.
