Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing federal healthcare funding, mental health care access, and an upcoming town hall meeting.
On May 22, 2026, Salinas questioned federal spending priorities in a tweet referencing former President Donald Trump: “Let me get this straight… President Trump can’t fund healthcare, yet he can use taxpayer money to reward the people who stormed the Capitol on January 6th?”
Later that day, she highlighted her involvement with national mental health advocacy groups: “Every American deserves timely, quality, and affordable mental health care. This week, I joined the Mental Health Liaison Group and Mental Health Caucus to discuss how Congress can strengthen the behavioral health continuum — from prevention to crisis response to recovery.”
On May 24, 2026, Salinas invited constituents to participate in an in-person event: “Don’t forget that you’re invited to my in-person town hall this Tuesday at 6 PM PT in #Salem! Check the link for more info https://t.co/F6uYInlqh0 https://t.co/jS3ffPTUmX”
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California, in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
