Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on her legislative efforts and opinions through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.

On December 9, 2025, Salinas highlighted a visit to a local nonprofit in Salem: “I visited Helping Hands in #Salem, a furniture bank that helps people transitioning out of homelessness get essential basics like mattresses, lamps, and cookware. With my Housing to Homes Act, more people will be able to get the help they need when moving off the streets and https://t.co/lXAXGFmNsv”.

Later that day, she criticized former President Trump and Republican lawmakers regarding economic policy: “If I remember correctly, President Trump and Republicans promised they would lower the cost of living They lied. Their Big, Ugly Bill and the ill-thought-out tariffs have made life even more expensive for our neighbors. It needs to stop now.”

On December 10, 2025, Salinas addressed ongoing efforts by House Democrats related to healthcare: “All @HouseDemocrats have signed a discharge petition to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits for 3 years. If just 4 Republicans join us, the House will be able to pass this potentially lifesaving extension and stop premiums from skyrocketing. To my Republican colleagues: do”.

Andrea Salinas has served as Oregon’s 6th District representative since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
