Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on her official X account addressing issues from human trafficking to mental health and economic concerns.
On January 11, 2026, Salinas drew attention to the global scope of human trafficking by posting: “Human trafficking affects more than 27 million people worldwide. Today, on National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, let’s bring attention to the issue and share where help exists. If you or somebody you know needs assistance, contact the national hotline at 1-888-373-7888.”
The following day, January 12, she addressed mental health practices in a tweet stating: “If you’re feeling overwhelmed, try writing some of your thoughts down. A journaling practice can be therapeutic, helping reduce stress and anxiety. My prompt for you today is: What’s one thing you’re grateful for? #MentalHealthMonday https://t.co/GoU7E1ZujN”
Later on January 12, Salinas commented on economic priorities with the post: ” Lowering the cost of living for you and your neighbors is a top priority of mine. President Trump cannot say the same. You deserve better.”
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after representing constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
