Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues on her Twitter account on May 19, 2026.
In a post published at 20:37 UTC, Salinas criticized former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, stating: “Trump sent ICE and CBP to terrorize our communities, putting women’s safety at risk. This attack must end. Today I joined @DemWomenCaucus to shine a light on how Trump’s immigration enforcement is threatening women. We will fight to ensure that justice is served.”
Later that evening, at 22:31 UTC, Salinas commented on economic conditions for American families and the priorities of the Trump administration: “Hardworking families are barely making ends meet each month. Yet President Trump is more worried about his billionaire-first agenda rather than fixing the cost-of-living crisis he created. This has to stop.”
In another post at 23:47 UTC, Salinas announced new federal funding for her district: “GOOD NEWS: $750,000 in federal funding is coming to the City of #Newberg! This funding will ensure that the Newberg community gets reliable, clean drinking water for years to come “
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
