Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently highlighted legislative efforts and community initiatives through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.

On May 8, 2026, Salinas announced new legislation aimed at reforming federal tax policy for kombucha producers. She wrote, “This news is fermentastic for kombucha lovers and local businesses alike! My new bill is steeped in successes to modernize the federal tax code so that your kombucha isn’t taxed unfairly. Later that day, Salinas addressed behavioral health support for children during a visit to the University of Oregon’s Portland campus. She posted on May 8, “Expanding our behavioral health workforce so every child gets the support they need is a top priority. During my visit to @uoregon’s Portland campus, I was excited to learn about their groundbreaking work in children’s behavioral health and prevention science, and to discuss how https://t.co/clU3Gfq54Z”.

In another post from May 8 marking Jewish American Heritage Month, Salinas stated her commitment to fighting antisemitism: “Happy Jewish American Heritage Month! Join me in celebrating the history and contributions of our Jewish neighbors here in #OR06. I’m dedicated to combating antisemitism and uplifting Jewish voices across the Willamette Valley and the United States. #JewishAmericanHeritageMonth”.

Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, she holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley (1994).
