Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets highlighting her legislative efforts and positions on environmental protection, national recognition of scientific achievement, and healthcare policy.
On July 24, 2025, Salinas announced her joint initiative with Rep. Yass Ansari to advocate for forest conservation. She wrote: “Today, @RepYassAnsari and I led 37 of our colleagues in sending a letter to Agriculture Secretary Rollins, urging the Trump Admin to reverse its decision to rescind the 2001 Roadless Rule and reinstate full protections for nearly 60 million acres of our most pristine forests.” (July 24, 2025)
Later that day, Salinas highlighted her work as a member of the House Science Committee Democrats by introducing a resolution related to space exploration. She stated: “As a member of the @sciencedems, I introduced a resolution to establish National Moon Landing Day. This day is a celebration of one of our country’s greatest scientific achievements and also a reminder to the next generation to dream big. “ (July 24, 2025)
On July 25, Salinas addressed healthcare funding concerns in Oregon alongside Senator Ron Wyden and Representative Andrea Dexter. She tweeted: “I stood with @RonWyden & @RepDexterOR to call out Republicans’ Big, Ugly Bill, which blocks OHP (Medicaid) payments to @PPFA for a year. The reality is that 60% of @PPFA patients in #OR rely on OHP for vital services like cancer screenings. This is an all-out attack on women,” (July 25, 2025)
Andrea Salinas has represented Oregon’s newly created sixth congressional district since being elected in 2023 after serving six years in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017-2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
