Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform on April 14, 2026, to highlight several legislative and community initiatives.
In a post marking World Quantum Day, Salinas introduced new legislation focused on building a robust quantum workforce. She stated on April 14, 2026: “Today is #WorldQuantumDay! Take a moment to learn about my new bill that would build a strong quantum workforce here in Oregon and across the country. We have to give students and researchers hands-on access to the tools of the future.”
Later that day, Salinas reminded constituents about an approaching deadline for the Congressional Art Competition. On April 14, 2026, she posted: “The deadline to apply to my Congressional Art Competition closes on Monday, April 20th, at 5:30 pm PT. Make sure to get your submission in on time for a chance to have your art featured in our nation’s Capitol!”
Addressing public health concerns related to gambling addiction, Salinas shared statistics and legislative efforts aimed at supporting recovery programs. In her tweet from April 14, 2026, she wrote: “Nearly 20 million Americans show signs of problem gambling. That is why I have a bill to ensure that problem gambling programs, like Bridgeway’s Santiam House, can access the funding they need to help even more people get on the path toward recovery.”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
