Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on December 11, 2025, highlighting her legislative initiatives and oversight efforts.
In recognition of International Animal Rights Day, Salinas wrote: “Today is International Animal Rights Day. When they don’t have a voice, it’s up to us to stand up for them. It’s why I introduced a bill to strengthen our ability to hold those responsible for illegal animal fighting to account. It’s time to take a stand against cruelty. Read” (December 11, 2025).
Later that day, she addressed support for organic agriculture: “I introduced the Domestic Organic Investment Act to provide grants to our organic farmers and producers to ensure that they can successfully expand their operations. As a member of @HouseAgDems, I will keep working so that they have the tools and resources they need to thrive” (December 11, 2025).
In another post focused on energy policy and federal funding for Oregon’s infrastructure needs, Salinas stated: “The Trump Administration canceled tens of millions of dollars to help Oregon deploy smart grid technologies to support a more reliable energy grid. At @sciencedems, I held the Under Secretary of Energy accountable. They can’t continue to undermine programs we rely on to keep” (December 11, 2025).
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 through early 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
