Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her ongoing engagement with constituents and expressed criticism of recent federal legislation in a series of posts on social media.
On April 17, 2026, Salinas emphasized her commitment to representing smaller communities, posting: “Falls City may be a small town, but I won’t let its voice go unheard in Congress. Hear from Mayor TJ Bailey and me! https://t.co/wBFeZo0q2i”.
Later that day, she voiced concern about the impact of recent federal policy changes on vulnerable populations. On April 17, 2026, she wrote: “Since Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill became law, millions of Americans have already lost food assistance all to give DHS a $75 billion check for ICE agents to come into our immigrant communities and inflict harm.”
Continuing her outreach efforts, Salinas visited a local senior living facility on April 18, 2026. She posted: “I visited Merrill Gardens Senior Living Facility — a full-service senior living community with more than 100 apartments in Sherwood. Afterwards, I stuck around to hear directly from residents about the issues that matter most to our seniors! https://t.co/c3y039E3EJ”.
Andrea Salinas has served as the representative for Oregon’s 6th District since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
