Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account on May 15, 2026, addressing topics ranging from federal spending proposals to local infrastructure improvements and honoring fallen law enforcement officers.
In a tweet posted at 20:11 UTC, Salinas criticized a Republican-backed proposal for federal funding: “More Americans believe in ghosts than support Trump’s ballroom, but the failed Republican majority wants to use $1 billion in taxpayer money to build it.”
Later that evening at 20:59 UTC, she marked Peace Officer Memorial Day with a tribute: “On Peace Officer Memorial Day, we honor the officers who gave their lives protecting our communities. We remember their sacrifice and recognize the loved ones and fellow law enforcement who carry their memory forward.”
At 21:58 UTC, Salinas highlighted new federal funding secured for Keizer families: “Big win for Keizer families: I delivered $850,000 for the city to construct new sidewalks and create a safer route for students to get to school. Our children shouldn’t have to worry about dodging traffic just to get to class.”
Andrea Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. She earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. Before serving in Congress beginning in 2023, she was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 until her election to Congress.
