Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted issues related to mental health care access for Hispanic adults and the importance of manufactured housing options through a series of posts on her official social media account.
On September 15, 2025, Salinas posted about mental health care disparities, stating, “Recent surveys show that only 47% of Hispanic adults with any mental illness got the resources they need. As we honor #HispanicHeritageMonth, know that I am committed to breaking stigma & will work to equip our community with culturally relevant mental health care & treatment.” On the same day, she announced new legislative efforts: “That’s why I introduced the Mental Health for Latinos Act. I was at the Manufactured Housing Institute’s housing showcase to see new, innovative, & affordable models, including some made in #OR06. I’ll continue to work on https://t.co/7VKC2lDq35”
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
