Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of policy concerns on her social media account, including mental health among Latino youth, utility affordability, and environmental protection.
On December 1, 2025, Salinas posted about mental health challenges facing young Latinos: “Latino youth are facing a mental health crisis, and it is critical to reduce stigma and ensure they are equipped with the necessary tools and support. I will continue working so that anyone who needs high-quality mental health care can access the treatment they deserve when they”.
The following day, she commented on the economic pressures many Americans face: “80 million Americans are struggling to pay their utility bills, forcing some families to make impossible decisions of whether to pay for their prescriptions or keep the damn lights on. The bottom line is that Trump is only making life more unaffordable and uncomfortable with his” (December 2, 2025).
Later on December 2, Salinas marked World Pollution Prevention Day by highlighting Oregon’s environment: “Oregon’s natural beauty is part of what makes our great state special. On #WorldPollutionPreventionDay, I will keep fighting for bold action to combat pollution & to protect our air, water, & land for generations of Oregonians to come.”
Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after representing her constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
