Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently used her social media platform to highlight her legislative priorities and community engagement.
On August 13, 2025, Salinas addressed concerns about reductions in nutrition assistance programs by stating, “I held a roundtable in #Salem to discuss the devastating impact of cutting billions in nutrition assistance for hardworking families. Republicans have made it clear that they prioritize the wealthiest Americans, but I’ll keep working to ensure that folks can put food on the”.
The following day, she commemorated a significant milestone for Social Security. On August 14, 2025, she wrote, “Happy Birthday, Social Security! 90 years ago today, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into law. Over the years, Social Security has helped keep millions out of poverty. Today, I am working to safeguard Social Security from President Trump’s attacks.”
Later on August 14, Salinas announced an upcoming event: “TODAY at 5:00 PM PT, @RonWyden and I will be hosting a public town hall for you and your neighbors. See you soon! TODAY 5:00 PM PT 400 Monmouth Ave N, Monmouth”.
Andrea Salinas began serving as a member of Congress for Oregon’s newly created 6th District in 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
