Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to highlight support for small businesses, honor mothers and caregivers, and address children’s mental health.

On May 9, Salinas posted: “From creating jobs to building community, small businesses are the backbone of our economy. Our small businesses deserve the resources and support to keep their doors open. I will continue to be their partner and work to deliver real policies that support them.”

Two days later, on May 10, she marked Mother’s Day with a message for her constituents: “Happy Mother’s Day, #OR06 Cheers to all the incredible moms, grandmas, and motherly figures in our lives. Today, we celebrate you “

On May 11, Salinas addressed child mental health awareness by stating: “Parents and caregivers are often the first to notice changes in mood, sleep, appetite, or behavior. Those shifts can be signs a child needs extra support. #MentalHealthMonday”

Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 through 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
