Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, highlighted her recent engagements and legislative priorities through a series of posts on social media.
On February 18, 2026, Salinas shared her visit to Dreamies Creamery, a local business that produces ice cream from sheep’s milk. She wrote, “Dreamies Creamery is a farm-to-table family business that makes delicious ice cream from local sheep’s milk. They recently earned a USDA Dairy Business Innovation Initiative grant. My staff toured their new facility in Independence to see firsthand the great work Dreamies is” (posted February 18, 2026).
Later the same day, Salinas met with union members in Portland. In her post she stated, “It was great to meet with Portland-area auto workers and UO student workers represented by UAW. Whether they’re working in the automotive sector or across campuses, I’m proud to stand with our unions.” (posted February 18, 2026).
Addressing policy efforts on child care affordability, Salinas wrote on February 19: “I am finding real ways to lower the cost of child care for families here in Oregon and across the country. That is why I am working on legislation that will allow families to pay no more than 7% of their income on child care. Tune in to hear more “ (posted February 19, 2026).
Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
