Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently posted a series of updates on social media highlighting legislative priorities, local engagement, and opportunities for students.
On April 16, 2026, Salinas reflected on legislative efforts regarding wage equality. She stated: “Five years ago, the House passed the Paycheck Fairness Act to increase accountability and transparency, and to make sure all workers are paid fairly. It’s not too late to get this commonsense bill across the finish line.”
Later that day, Salinas shared details from a visit to Falls City with local officials. She wrote: “A beautiful day in #FallsCity! Toured the area with Mayor Bailey and City Manager Foscoli to talk about the town’s projects and how I can partner with them at the federal level.” The post included a photo from her tour.
In another post on April 16, Salinas promoted an opportunity for high school students in her district: “Are you a high school student? Do you want to see your art recognized in our nation’s Capitol? If so, then I have the perfect opportunity for you! Check out my Congressional Art Competition before the deadline next Monday!”
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, she is also an alumna of the University of California, Berkeley (BA ’94).
