Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on her official Twitter account addressing public safety and community recognition.

On July 28, 2025, Salinas urged residents to prepare for wildfire season by staying informed. She wrote, “Wildfire season is upon us, and access to the right information is critical. Make a plan; sign up for emergency alerts; and monitor wildfires, smoke, and air quality. See more resources below https://t.co/qjOVFY4vwY”.

The following day, July 29, 2025, Salinas acknowledged South Asian Heritage Month with a message highlighting the contributions of South Asian Americans: “We’re celebrating South Asian Heritage Month! I’m proud to recognize the countless contributions that the South Asian community has made to #OR06 and across the country.”

Later on July 29, Salinas shared news about Willamette Valley’s recent recognition by Travel + Leisure magazine. She stated, “ICYMI: Our very own Willamette Valley was just named in @TravelLeisure’s Top 10 “Coolcation” Destinations! Come on down to #OR06 to beat the heat, and head over to one of stunning wineries for the ideal coolcation. https://t.co/0MQ7NFiTek”.

Salinas has represented Oregon’s 6th District since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree.
