Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, marked International Women’s Day and other timely topics in a series of recent social media posts.
On March 8, Salinas acknowledged the ongoing efforts for gender equality, stating: “Happy #InternationalWomensDay! We’ve come a long way in the fight for women’s rights, but our work is not done. My @DemWomenCaucus colleagues and I won’t give up fighting to build a better future for our daughters.”
Later that day, she reminded constituents about the start of Daylight Saving Time with: “Don’t forget to set your clocks forward! Daylight Saving Time has begun, and it’s time to spring forward Losing an hour of sleep is never fun, but I’m looking forward to longer, brighter days across Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley “ This message highlighted her connection to her district and seasonal changes.
On March 9, Salinas emphasized mental health awareness during Sleep Awareness Week by posting: “Getting enough quality sleep is so important to taking care of your mental wellbeing During #SleepAwarenessWeek, save and share some helpful tips that may help you improve your sleep hygiene! #MentalHealthMonday https://t.co/knQJIDRy2x”
Salinas has served as Oregon’s 6th District representative since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
