Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to mark several national observances and highlight community issues in her district.
On October 12, 2025, Salinas posted a message in recognition of National Farmers Day: “Happy #NationalFarmersDay! The Willamette Valley’s farming roots run deep. As a member of @HouseAgDems, I’m dedicated to helping that proud tradition grow even stronger for generations to come.”
The following day, on October 13, 2025, she acknowledged Indigenous Peoples’ Day with a message of support for local tribes: “Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! I am proud to celebrate the many contributions of our Indigenous communities — including the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde right here in #OR06. In Congress, I’ll keep fighting to ensure your rights are protected and your heritage is”
Later that same day, Salinas highlighted Emotional Wellness Month with a post encouraging mental health awareness: “October is Emotional Wellness Month! This is a reminder that taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. Check out these resources to get tips for managing emotions, bettering sleep, reducing stress, practicing mindfulness, & dealing with grief.”
Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 and previously held office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California, in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, which she earned in 1994.
