Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, shared several messages on her social media account on April 13, 2026, addressing community celebrations, tax deadlines, and health equity.
In a message to constituents celebrating the Theravada Buddhist New Year, Salinas wrote: “Happy Theravada Buddhist New Year to all those who are celebrating in #OR06. Wishing you a joyous and healthy year!” (April 13, 2026).
Later that day, she reminded followers of the approaching tax deadline: “Have you filed your taxes yet? The deadline is this Wednesday, so make sure you get them completed on time. For information on how to file your taxes, visit https://t.co/p2uGfhi9w6” (April 13, 2026).
Salinas also marked Black Maternal Health Week with a statement highlighting ongoing disparities in maternal care. She posted: “During Black Maternal Health Week, we raise awareness about the barriers to accessing culturally relevant mental and physical health care that Black mothers face. Black Maternal Health Week calls on all of us to confront inequities in maternal care for moms across the nation.” (April 13, 2026).
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
