Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted several messages on her social media account this week addressing religious observance, economic concerns, and upcoming tax deadlines.
On April 9, Salinas extended holiday wishes to her constituents celebrating Passover, writing “Wishing all those celebrating in Oregon a meaningful conclusion to Passover. Chag Sameach!”
The following day, she commented on recent economic developments, attributing rising inflation to actions by former President Trump. On April 10, she stated “Inflation has reached its highest level in YEARS, all thanks to President Trump. His war in Iran and other ill-thought-out policies have destabilized our economy and increased financial strain on hardworking families. He has continuously broken his promise to the American”.
Later that same day, Salinas reminded residents about the approaching tax deadline with a post saying “Don’t forget! The tax deadline is next week. Learn more about filing your taxes from home”.
Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard at age 53. She previously served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023 before joining Congress and holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
