Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform on September 8, 2025, to promote mental health resources and call for transparency regarding an unspecified set of files.
In a post marking #988Day, Salinas highlighted the availability of the national mental health crisis line. On September 8, she wrote: “Today is #988Day, a time for us to share that the free, confidential @988Lifeline is available 24/7 to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. Call, text, or chat 988 to get the support you need. Watch till the end to screenshot additional resources #MentalHealthMonday”.
Later that day, Salinas addressed another issue in a brief statement: “I am not shocked that this birthday note exists. Release the full files.”
Continuing her focus on mental health awareness, Salinas provided further information about contacting counselors through the 988 Lifeline service. She posted: “Did you know that there are a few ways you can get in contact with a @988Lifeline counselor today. Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in 1994.
