Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently posted a series of tweets highlighting her interns’ contributions, criticizing presidential policy decisions, and celebrating achievements within Oregon’s wine industry.

On July 31, Salinas acknowledged her office’s summer interns in a tweet: “Happy National Intern Day! I want to acknowledge my wonderful interns who have dedicated their summer to working hard for #OR06. Thanks for your great work! #NationalInternDay https://t.co/euWGPKOeY2”.

Later that day, she commented on recent federal actions regarding health care and White House spending: “So… let me get this straight: President Trump just slashed HEALTH CARE for millions of Americans with his Big, Ugly Tax Scam, but he is building a $200 million White House BALLROOM? https://t.co/ddhcal1rRj”.

On August 1, Salinas turned her attention to local news about the region’s wine industry: “Oregon wineries just swept the @10Best awards, which includes a few of #OR06’s very own. This is a major honor for the Willamette Valley and I will continue to work to ensure that our grape growers and wine makers have the resources they need to thrive for generations to”.

Andrea Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. She earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. Before joining Congress in 2023 as representative of Oregon’s newly created sixth district, she served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 through early 2023.
