Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, representing Oregon’s 6th District, highlighted her personal connection to immigrant experiences and announced upcoming constituent services in a series of tweets posted on June 2, 2026.
In an English-language post commemorating Immigrant Heritage Month, Salinas wrote, “I’m the proud daughter of an immigrant, and I know firsthand the sacrifices that immigrants make to give their families a better life. During Immigrant Heritage Month and every month, we honor their culture, talents, and countless contributions that have strengthened the fabric” (June 2, 2026).
Later that day, she informed constituents about assistance available at an upcoming event: “Do you need help with renewing your passport or have questions about your VA benefits? Stop by my casework hours at Polk Resource Center in Monmouth on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM PT. Members of my team will be ready to assist you! https://t.co/Pbrnwpn2Bf” (June 2, 2026).
She reiterated this information in Spanish for wider accessibility: “¿Necesita ayuda para renovar su pasaporte o tiene preguntas sobre sus beneficios de VA? Pase por mis horas de trabajo en el Centro de Recursos Polk en Monmouth el martes 9 de junio de 2026, de 11:00 AM a 1:00 PM PT. ¡Los miembros de mi oficina estarán listos para ayudarle!” (June 2, 2026).
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since January 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California, in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
