Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing concerns about health insurance premiums and economic policies under former President Donald Trump.
On September 12, 2025, Salinas alerted her constituents about potential increases in health insurance costs for those enrolled through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). In her first post she wrote, “If you get your health care through the Affordable Care Act, watch my message to you about how your premiums may go up the next time you re-enroll. Make sure to share this video with at least one neighbor who needs to know this information. (1/2) https://t.co/Ld6B8KvaeW”. She followed up with another post: “Visit the link to get an estimate of how much your health insurance might increase during the next re-enrollment period (2/2) https://t.co/tSVOZH8rOQ”.
Later that day, Salinas commented on proposed economic policies associated with Donald Trump. She stated: “Let me get this straight: Trump’s policies will REDUCE the average income for all Americans except for the top 1%, all while middle-class households lose out on around $1,300? Yep, sounds like Trump’s America. This is a slap in the face to hardworking families who are left in”.
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
