Utility Rate Increases

Investment

Effective with March Billing

Utility rates are reviewed biennially to ensure adequate funding for the maintenance and improvement of the City’s utility systems. The last rate review took place in 2021.  After careful consideration, on December 15, 2021, the Fairview City Council approved the proposed adjustments to the City’s water (4%) and storm water (9%) rates, to take effect on March 1, 2022 and March 1, 2023.  Council determined these  increases to be essential in ensuring adequate funding for these critical utility systems. An increase in sewer rates was not deemed necessary.

Effective with the March 2023 billing, the overall increase for a typical residential customer will be approximately $2.66 per month (2.9%). Actual amounts will vary with your water usage.  If you would like additional   information, please contact the City Finance Department at 503-665-7929.
