Census Bureau: 8.3% of people in Multnomah County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 810,011 citizens living in Multnomah County in 2021, 91.7% said they were only one race, while 8.3% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Multnomah County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 74.3% or 601,826 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 7.7% and totaled 62,051 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Multnomah County is 0.6% higher than the state average, which stands at 7.7%.
