5.5% of Multnomah County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Multnomah County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 26,238 people out of the 810,011 living in Multnomah County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Multnomah County has increased compared to the 5.2% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Multnomah County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.6%.

Of the 446,927 people who had a job during that time, 199 were employed in the Armed Forces and 446,728 belonged to the civilian labor force.
