What’s happening
You probably already know that the new county courthouse will be built where Hilltop and Stewart Behavioral Health Centers now stand – if you’ve been here for an appointment in the past few weeks, you’ve definitely seen and heard some of the early work underway.
Hilltop and Stewart will eventually be moving to a permanent building where we can provide you enhanced services, but it will not be ready until late 2023. We can’t wait to share details with you as design and renovation of the permanent building progress!
In the meantime, we will temporarily relocate to the county’s Development Services Building (DSB). Our teams will be moving into DSB in phases, but we plan to offer all services to you there by Monday, December 19, 2022. Please check with your provider about the date your appointments will shift to DSB.
Where to go
The DSB is just a few minutes’ walk from our current clinic buildings. It’s number 9 on the Visitor Parking During Construction map. Our current buildings are numbers 8 and 10.
Our Child and Family Team and the Genoa pharmacy will be located on the 3rd floor of DSB. Adult outpatient services and the Community Support Team (Stewart) will be located on the 4th floor.
Don’t worry: Hilltop and Stewart staff will be at a check-in desk, to welcome and guide you and answer your questions. There will be plenty of signs around the building to help you, too.
Where to park
If you drive or ride in a car to your appointment, you or your driver can park in the J, K or N visitor parking lots shown in green on the map. Some spaces in the K lot closest to the DSB will be reserved for non-emergency medical transport vehicles and visitors with mobility issues.
Change is hard
This transition is going to be hard for all of us. Please be sure to tell your provider how you are feeling, and what you need to adjust to this new environment.
The county's Resolution Services Department will host a facilitated listening session on Dec. 1 at noon for Behavioral Health clients impacted by this move. Learn more about this event.
We will try very hard to do things the way we always have. You’ll see the same familiar therapists, case managers, providers, supported employment specialists, and front desk staff – just in a different place.
But some things will have to change for a while. For example, we will have fewer private offices available in DSB, so if you are able to attend your appointments via telehealth rather than in person, we encourage you to do so.
Despite these temporary challenges, the courthouse construction and health center relocation will ultimately give us a great opportunity to provide you enhanced services in a large, renovated, client-friendly building. We’re excited about our permanent building and look forward to sharing details as design and renovation get underway.
