Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.
Individuals interested in this opportunity can apply online or via a paper form that can be obtained from the Public & Government Affairs Department by calling 503-655-8751 or in person at the Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.

Clackamas County Service District #5 Budget Committee
Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking two volunteers interested in serving on the budget committee for Clackamas County Service District No. 5 (CCSD#5). The purpose of this Committee is to review and ensure timely and cost effective street lighting operation, maintenance and installation for property owners within the lighting district. The term is for three years.
The Committee for CCSD#5 currently meets virtually through a zoom meeting twice a year between May-June. Experience and participation in an advisory committee is helpful as a base of knowledge for committee work, but not necessary. We are looking for members from diverse backgrounds, including race, creed, color, sex, age, heritage, national origin or income.
Interested individuals need to complete an application form and will be invited to interview with the staff liaison.

Emergency Preparedness Council
The purpose of the Emergency Preparedness Council is to review and offer advice in all matters relating to emergency management and disaster preparedness. This Council shares its observations and recommendations for improvements to the Disaster Management Department and the County Board of Commissioners to help guide emergency management and disaster preparedness programming.
The Emergency Preparedness Council is recruiting for voting members who will represent the county at-large, as well as the East County, including Estacada, Welches, Government Camp, and the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness.
The goals of the Emergency Preparedness Council are as follows:
- Advise the Disaster Management Department and Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners in the development of activities, strategies and priorities to achieve disaster preparedness within the boundaries of Clackamas County.
- Promote disaster management initiatives and activities. Participate in community education and engagement.
- Advocate for policy and system changes that improve the disaster preparedness in Clackamas County. Optional activities could include providing oral or written testimony, helping to identify partners of support for preparedness, and participating in legislative activities.
- Strengthen intergovernmental collaboration and enhance collaboration between governments and partners on an ongoing basis. Develop strategies to enhance collaboration among governmental bodies and the general public.
Leaders for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council
This council is seeking volunteers to fill five openings that carry three-year terms. The council envisions a county in which equity and inclusion are at the forefront of all decision-making, and in which all community members are actively engaged. The council strives to examine county processes in order to recommend and facilitate changes that foster greater inclusiveness, develop leadership from diverse communities, increase community participation in county government, and promote Equity and Inclusion, education and a sense of belonging.
Council members will represent the full spectrum of identities including age, race, sex, gender, gender expression, color, national origin, language, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religious beliefs and affiliations, physical abilities and or other diversity. Council members meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
