Over the past month, the City's Facilities staff and contractors have spent their evenings replacing light bulbs throughout Gresham’s City Hall.
Utilizing the Energy Trust of Oregon incentives, City staff are able to swap existing overhead fluorescent tube lighting for Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting.
“By swapping these lights to LED, it’s the equivalent of removing 14 gas-powered vehicles from the road,” says Gregg Hayward, Business Sustainability Outreach Coordinator. "Beyond that, this change will save staff time and labor as the lights will need to be changed every six years versus every two years and save the City on energy costs each year.”

- LED lights last longer, use 62.5% less energy than the existing bulbs, and ultimately reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
