On February 7, 2025, Congresswoman Salinas highlighted the issue of gambling addiction in the United States. She stated that "About 7 million Americans suffer from a gambling addiction, but there are currently NO federal resources devoted to addressing this problem." She introduced the GRIT Act, which aims to study, prevent, and treat gambling addictions using existing funds without additional taxpayer expense.
In another tweet on the same day, she described the GRIT Act as "a commonsense, fiscally responsible piece of legislation" and encouraged bipartisan support for it. She provided a link for further reading on the proposed legislation.
On February 8, 2025, Salinas met with the Oregon School Boards Association in Washington D.C. Discussing various educational topics such as career and technical education and funding for schools in her district #OR06. She emphasized her commitment by stating "I'll keep fighting to protect our public schools & ensure that every student gets the resources they need to thrive."
