Clackamas County - OR issued the following announcement on Apr. 28.
Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.
Individuals interested in this opportunity can apply online or via a paper form that can be obtained from the Public & Government Affairs Department by calling 503-655-8751 or in person at the Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.

North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District Advisory Committee
The North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) is recruiting volunteers to represent unincorporated parts of the district for its District Advisory Committee (DAC).

Sub-area 1: One position, to begin July 1
Sub-area 2: No vacancies
Sub-area 3: Two positions, currently open
Sub-area 4: One position, to begin July 1
The District Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the District’s governing board – the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners – on the design, planning, and development of parks and the provision of recreational programs in the district. Committee members are important in representing residents’ voices in NCPRD decisions and policies. Learn more about the committee.
Members serve four-year terms on a committee of 11 representatives. The group meets the second Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Meeting are currently being held via Zoom.

Enhanced Law Enforcement District Budget Committee
The Clackamas County Enhanced Law Enforcement District (ELED) Budget Committee (Committee) has three current vacancies. Appointment to this Committee is for a three-year term. The ELED was approved by voters in the November 1994 general election and became effective July 1, 1995. Its purpose is to increase the level of Sheriff’s patrols to meet the increased demand of urban Clackamas County. It serves approximately 85,000 residents in the unincorporated areas of Clackamas County within the Urban Growth Boundary and the City of Johnson City.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in Law Enforcement in their community and who would like to have a voice in how their tax dollars are spent.
This commitment is short-term, with an annual time commitment estimated at approximately 4 hours. Responsibilities include 1) Reviewing ELED budget documents prepared by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and 2) Preparation for and participation in one public meeting (which lasts from 30 – 45 minutes).
The ELED Budget Committee will meet on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. The meeting is scheduled to be held in person at the Clackamas County Public Services Building in Oregon City.
Candidates must live or own property within the unincorporated area of Clackamas County and within the Enhanced Law Enforcement District and pay the respective “County Law Enhanced” tax assessment.
