Salinas, who previously served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023 and holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, has been vocal regarding issues of legislative actions, insider trading, and executive branch oversight.

On April 9, 2025, Salinas addressed concerns about insider trading, stating, "This is insider trading. Plain and simple." She highlighted the necessity for transparency, indicating that "The American people deserve the full truth about who knew about this and when."

Adding to her scrutiny of recent legislative actions, on April 10, 2025, Salinas criticized the Republican Party's handling of constitutional duties. She asserted, "With this shameful legislation, Republicans are abandoning their constitutional duty to serve as a check on the out-of-control Trump Administration." This statement marked the beginning of a series of comments analyzing the legislative relationships.

Continuing on April 10, Salinas extended her critique of Republican strategies, commenting on executive and judicial branch dynamics. She said, "It’s part of a larger effort by POTUS and Republicans in Congress to attack, influence, and weaken the co-equal judiciary branch so that Trump can continue wreaking havoc on our country, stealing from hardworking families, and ripping off the American people without any." This statement underscores her concerns about potential constitutional and public financial impacts.
