CITY OF ESTACADA: City Council Election - November 8, 2022

Election

City of Estacada issued the following announcement on June 8. 

Are you interested in running for Mayor or City Council? The mayor seat and 3 council positions will be on the ballot at the November 8, 2022 General Election. The current positions are held by:

Mayor, Sean Drinkwine

Councilor, Katy Dunsmuir

Councilor, Justin Gates

Councilor, Jerry Tenbush

Council members attend two council meetings per month (second and fourth Monday evenings), as well as attend meetings and trainings at the regional & state level. All positions are on a volunteer, unpaid basis and terms begin January 2023.

If you are interested in running for office, you must be a qualified elector under state law, be a registered voter of the City of Estacada and have resided within the city limits of the City of Estacada for at least one year immediately preceding the date of election.

Candidate filings must be submitted to the City Recorder no sooner than Monday, August 8th and no later than 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2022. IMPORTANT DATES

If you are interested in running for office, here are some critical dates for your calendar:

August 8, 2022: First day to file nomination papers with the City Elections Official.

   

August 25, 2022 (by 5:00pm): Last day to file nomination papers with the City Elections Official.

   

August 30, 2022: Final day for City Elections Official to submit names of candidates for the November 8, 2022 General Election.

September 2, 2022: Last day to withdraw candidacy.

   

September 12, 2022: Last day to file candidate statements for City positions with the County Elections Office for the voters’ pamphlet.

   

October 19, 2022: County Elections Office mails out ballots.

   

November 8, 2022: Election Day.

   

January 9, 2023: Oath of Office administered at the first Council meeting of the year.
