If you need suicide or other mental health crisis support, or are worried about someone else, we urge Clackamas County residents to call our 24/7 Crisis and Support Line at 503-655-8585.
But if you’re away from Clackamas County or don’t have our number at hand, there’s an easy-to-remember nationwide resource available, too.
This past Saturday, July 16, the U.S. transitioned to 988 as the new national Suicide and Crisis Lifeline number. You can also call or text the Lifeline’s old number at 800-273-8255 or access its chat function at 988lifeline.org/chat.
In addition to these crisis lines, Clackamas County offers county residents several local resources, including urgent walk-in care at our Clackamas Mental Health Center, and face-to-face Mobile Crisis Response in public settings. Call 503-655-8585 to access any of these services, and learn more about them at www.clackamas.us/behavioralhealth/urgentmentalhealth.
Veterans can also contact the VA’s Veterans Crisis Line by calling 800-273-8255, texting 838255, or accessing its chat function at www.veteranscrisisline.net.
We encourage people to use these resources rather than calling 911 for mental health crisis support.
