Elections Information

GENERAL ELECTION, 2022

At the November 8, 2022 General Election, four City Council positions will appear on the ballot.  The position of City Councilor is a non-partisan position, and although the positions are numbered, they are all elected from the City at large, meaning candidates may reside in any area of the City.

The City Council is an elected policy decision-making body for the City of Gladstone. The council serves with an equal number of “lay members” on the Budget Committee and hears land use appeals of decisions made by the Planning Commission. Council members also serve as liaisons on City advisory boards, committees and commissions.

The November 8, 2022 election ballot will feature Council positions 1, 3 and 5 and the Mayor’s position:

Council Position #1                          Currently held by Randy Ripley                  Four-year term

Council Position #3                          Currently held by Matt Tracy                      Four-year term

Council Position #5                          Currently held by Tracy Todd                      Four-year term

Mayor                                               Currently held by Tamara Stempel             Four-year term

Must be a qualified elector (voter) under state law, Section 2, Article II, Oregon Constitution;

Must reside within the city for a least one year immediately before election on November 8, 2022 or appointment to office and remain a resident of the city during their entire term of office;

The Council is the final judge of the election and qualifications of its members based upon the City Charter.
