UPDATED: Sheriff's Office investigating double homicide near Estacada; tips sought

Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering a $2,500 reward for any information leading to an arrest/conviction in the August 2019 murders of Stacy Rickerd and Jeremy Merchant.

On Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, The bodies of Estacada residents Stacy Jean Rickerd, 42, and Jeremy David Merchant, 43, were found in the vicinity of a shooting pit -- an improvised target shooting area -- off 4615 Road and the 130 Spur in the Mt. Hood National Forest in Clackamas County.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that both victims died of homicidal violence due to gunshots.

Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking the public’s help in solving these murders.
