On March 25, 2025, Salinas expressed concerns regarding funding cuts, stating, "I’m constantly hearing from small business owners and community members in #OR06 about how Trump and Musk's illegal funding cuts are making their lives even harder." Salinas described these cuts as a misuse of funds affecting working families in favor of billionaires.
