The Oregon City Public Library is recruiting for an Adult Services Librarian II.

Our Library serves more than 60,000 people who live and work within the City of Oregon City and in surrounding unincorporated Clackamas County.  We are a member of the LINCC (Libraries in Clackamas County) cooperative, whose member libraries serve over 420,000 people throughout Clackamas County.

Applications will be accepted until 11 pm on March 29, 2023. The pay range for the position is $29.63 - $40.82/hr.

The Adult Services Librarian II serves as a lead worker for the Library’s Adult Services division. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, experience working in a busy public library environment, and experience coordinating and leading the daily activities of a team or workgroup.

In addition to your individual collection development and programming duties, you will also be responsible for leading a team of librarians and library assistants and coordinating day-to-day activities of the Adult Services division including collection development, programming, outreach, and reference desk services. You will also represent the Oregon City Public Library on LINCC-wide committees and workgroups.

As a Team Lead, you will work closely with Library Management, other Team Leads and staff in other Library divisions (Youth Services, Technical Services, Library IT & PR, Circulation, etc.,) to review policies and procedures, identify opportunities for efficiencies and standardization, collaborate on library-wide projects and events, and help maintain a cooperative, friendly, and fun work environment.  While you will work within the parameters of established City and library policies, professional standards, budgetary guidelines, and strategic priorities, you will exercise considerable independent judgment and perform duties with limited supervision.

Candidates will have a combination of background and experience which will allow them to perform all the duties of the position. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strength in:

Coordinating team activities, and providing support, training, and coaching to team members.

Collecting and analyzing data to inform collection development and programming activities, priorities, and budgets.

Monitoring performance metrics and collecting/compiling/reporting statistical data.

Assisting in the preparation and production of information (articles, web pages, social media posts) about library services and events.

Identifying underserved populations and developing programs or services to better meet their needs.

Developing mutually-beneficial relationships and partnerships with other City departments, local government agencies, and community groups.

You’ll work with a fun-loving, innovative, and passionate team of Library superstars.  Your schedule will include evening and weekend work.

Please see the Librarian 2 job description for more information on duties and minimum qualifications.
