Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, representing Oregon's 6th District since 2023, recently took to social media to share her legislative initiatives and community involvement. Salinas has a background in the Oregon House of Representatives, where she served from 2017 to 2023.

On January 24, 2025, Congresswoman Salinas announced her first piece of legislation in the 119th Congress via Twitter. She stated: "I’m proud to introduce the Universal Right to Vote by Mail Act as my first piece of legislation in the 119th Congress." This bill aims to expand voting accessibility across the United States.

In another tweet on the same day, Salinas highlighted Oregon's history with vote-by-mail systems. She noted: "Oregon has been a vote-by-mail state for almost 30 years, and we have one of the safest and most secure elections systems in the country with consistently high turnout." The proposed legislation seeks to enhance democratic participation nationwide.

Additionally, on January 24, Salinas shared her volunteer work over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. She tweeted: "Over MLK weekend, I volunteered with A Family Place in #Yamhill County, helping package free diapers and wipes for #OR06 families in need." As a mother herself, she expressed understanding of parenting costs and reiterated her commitment to supporting Oregon families.
