Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, representing Oregon's 6th District since 2023, recently shared her concerns on social media regarding the current administration's trade policies. On March 3, 2025, she posted a series of tweets criticizing President Trump's economic strategies and their potential impact on American consumers and businesses.

In her first tweet, Salinas painted a stark picture of the consequences she believes will result from ongoing trade wars. She stated: "Empty shelves at the grocery store. Long lines & steep prices at the gas station. Shuttered farms & businesses. This is President Trump's vision for America, and it is going to be our reality if the Administration continues to pursue reckless & unnecessary trade wars."

Following this, she urged the president to collaborate with Congress to find viable solutions that would alleviate financial burdens on families in Oregon. Her message was clear: "Once again, I am calling on President Trump to stop playing roulette with our economy & start working with Congress on solutions that will actually bring down costs for Oregon families."

Salinas further elaborated on her stance against tariffs in another tweet. She argued that these measures function as an additional tax burdening American households and businesses. According to her post: "Tariffs are nothing more than a tax on American businesses & families. These tariffs will kill jobs, wreck our economy & hike up prices for consumers on everything from fruits & vegetables to your monthly rent & utility bills."
