Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, representing Oregon's 6th District since 2023, recently shared her views on several issues through a series of tweets. Salinas, who has been active in politics since serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023, voiced concerns and commitments on various matters affecting her constituents.
On March 13, 2025, Congresswoman Salinas criticized the Trump Administration's decision to reduce the workforce at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). She stated that "By firing half of @samhsagov's workers, the Trump Administration is sending us backwards in the fight against mental illness and addiction." She further warned that such actions could diminish access to essential services and increase risks related to relapse, overdose, and suicide.
Later that day, Salinas expressed her commitment to supporting local agriculture following a meeting with the Oregon Association of Nurseries. She tweeted: "Enjoyed my recent meeting with the Oregon Association of Nurseries. I am committed to supporting our growers and nurseries in #OR06, and I will continue to advocate for their priorities as we work to pass a fair Farm Bill."
In another tweet posted on March 13, she addressed economic concerns under President Trump's administration. Salinas remarked: "My constituents didn't vote for this shitstorm. They voted for lower costs and safer communities. President Trump can lie all he wants, but he's going to keep siding with billionaires." She emphasized her dedication alongside House Democrats to support working individuals.
